Image, HTML and Excel clash reports

Image and HTML reports render every group of a grouping with the same projection and view settings. The Excel clash reports from the Clash Manager need Navisworks Manage. They open on a Summary sheet with a status-by-test matrix, add a ready-made pivot, and list every clash with its level, grid, both items and their Revit ids.

What it does

Render every group to images or a printable HTML report

One rendered image per group, an HTML report that prints one group per page, and Excel clash reports with a summary, a pivot, a set-by-set matrix and a history.

  • Image Report: choose grouping, level, camera view, projection, resolution and format, and get one image per group
  • HTML Report: a cover page with the grouping rules and a colour strip, a clickable contents page, and one A4 page per group with four views that prints to PDF
  • Two page layouts: portrait with the 3D view on top, the Top, Front and Right views below and a Notes box for markup after printing, or landscape with the four views in a two-by-two grid
  • Show each group on its own, or in context with the rest of the model grey and transparent
  • Image Report stamps each image with the grouping and group name in a chosen corner, font and colour, at 16:9, 4:3, 1:1 or a custom size up to 10000 pixels, with PNG transparency
  • Single-file mode embeds the images in one index.html, and the Compact image size makes the report about four times smaller. The completion message states the size and warns above 25 MB, the usual e-mail limit
  • After a report the model, its colours and the camera are put back as you left them
  • Excel clash reports (Navisworks Manage): Standard, Assigned To, Detailed and Matrix. Every workbook opens on a Summary sheet with totals and a colour scale
  • The Detailed report adds priority, dates, age, distance and clash point in your display unit, nearest level and grid, both items' name, category, source file and Revit id
  • Image and HTML reports can be cancelled from the progress bar and keep the groups already rendered

Excel clash reports

The Clash Manager exports the checked tests to Excel. Every workbook opens on a Summary sheet with the model, date, Navisworks version and a status-by-test matrix with totals and a colour scale. Standard and Assigned To add a pivot ready to filter by status or assignee. The Standard report writes tolerances in your display unit and the column header names the unit. The Detailed report is the full record of each clash, and each Standard, Assigned To or Detailed export can append a dated snapshot to a history workbook, so trends and resolved-per-week come out of Excel or Power BI.

The Matrix report puts the checked tests on a selection-set-by-selection-set grid, one sheet for the total and one per status, optionally one per assignee, with group subtotals and a hover comment listing the tests behind each cell. The Excel clash reports need Navisworks Manage.

Image and HTML reports

Both reports take a grouping from Group Elements and a level of the tree, isolate each group and render it. The HTML report renders a perspective and three orthographic views per group into undistorted frames; click any view to open it full-screen. Zoom To Fit is honoured: with it off, the 3D view of every group is captured from the camera you set before starting, so all groups share the same framing. The Top, Front and Right views are always aimed at the group. The report is an index.html next to its images folder, with nothing fetched from the internet, or a single file with the images embedded.
